VFN Appoints Ty Otto as Chief Operating Officer and Secretary, Advancing VFN’s Vision and New Community Initiatives

VENTURA, CA. — VFN is proud to announce the appointment of Ty Otto as Chief Operating Officer and Secretary.

In this leadership role, Otto will work alongside Chief Executive Officer Cameron DeJong and Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Novak to advance VFN’s vision and strengthen its existing programs. He will help lead organizational operations, strategic coordination, and corporate administration as VFN expands its programs, partnerships, and presence throughout the community.

Otto brings extensive local soccer management experience to VFN. From 2016 to 2020, he founded and operated the Oxnard Guerreros, a fourth-division U.S. soccer club. It was during his tenure with the Guerreros that Otto first connected with DeJong, who played for the club following his collegiate career at California State University, Monterey Bay.

Since beginning his work behind the scenes in early May, Otto has already made a significant impact on VFN’s operations. He has played a key role in producing recent Downtown Ventura street events, securing essential sponsorships for the World Cup Passport, and expanding VFN’s overall presence in the community.

“What a great time to be joining VFN as we carry the torch following one of the wildest and most entertaining World Cups ever,” Otto said. “After meeting with Cameron several times earlier this year, hearing his vision, and seeing it firsthand, I knew I had to be part of what VFN was building.

“At VFN, our goal is to serve as an ethical conduit for athletes. We want to connect them with brighter futures, whether on or off the field, while keeping our programs free or as affordable as possible.”

Otto’s appointment marks an important step in VFN’s continued growth and strengthens the organization’s ability to develop accessible programs, build meaningful partnerships, and create new opportunities for athletes throughout the region.
