April 26 Showcase Recap: A Full Day of Football, Exposure, and Impact

April 26, 2025 – Buena High School, Ventura, CA

On April 26, Ventura Football Network hosted its most impactful showcase to date at Buena High School in Ventura, California. With 100 players, four competitive matches, national scouting access, and community support at every level, this event captured what VFN is all about — creating real opportunities for players without the barriers of pay-to-play.

Every player participated in this showcase completely free of charge. No registration fees. No hidden costs. Just football.

Four Matches. One Unified Goal.

The showcase featured a full day of match play designed to highlight talent across every stage:

  • Boys Showcase Match – spotlighting elite youth players

  • Girls/Women’s Showcase Match – providing high-level exposure for female athletes

  • Men’s Showcase Match – showcasing unsigned and senior-level players

  • VFN Squad vs. KickaballPod JUCO Select – a marquee match watched by scouts nationwide

All matches were professionally filmed and livestreamed via Hudl, allowing college and semi-pro scouts across the country to evaluate talent in real time and revisit key plays post-event.

Tangible Results and Recruiting Impact

The April 26 Showcase produced immediate results:

  • Two players from the VFN Squad signed with Santa Barbara City College (SBCC)

  • Multiple players were recruited by Sporting FC Women

  • Several players received interest and direct outreach from college programs around the country

In-person and remote scouting attendees included:

  • Marlon Devalle, Assistant Coach, CSUN (Cal State Northridge)

  • Tarzan Fernandez, Head Coach, United City FC Women

  • Jon Meyers, Head Coach, Sporting FC Men’s First Team

  • College programs from across the country watching live via Hudl

A New Standard for Showcase Events

The April 26 Showcase proved what’s possible when football is built around access, not profit.

  • 100% free for all players

  • Professional footage and livestreamed exposure

  • Genuine outcomes with college and club opportunities

This is what Ventura Football Network stands for — and we’re just getting started.
