The problem

Soccer has become one of the most expensive and difficult sports for families to navigate. Many players are expected to pay high club fees, travel costs, tournament expenses, recruiting platform fees, and private training costs just to stay competitive. For families with limited resources, this creates a major barrier to participation and opportunity.

At the same time, talented players often struggle to get meaningful exposure. Many athletes have the ability to play at the next level, but they do not know how to contact coaches, build a recruiting profile, create quality video, or find programs that are the right fit academically, athletically, and financially.

The current system is also fragmented. Clubs, showcases, tournaments, media providers, recruiting platforms, and college programs often operate separately. As a result, families are left trying to piece everything together on their own. Players may attend events, pay for exposure, and still leave without a clear plan, follow-up, or pathway forward.

This problem is visible locally. Ventura County has talented players across high school, club, Sunday league, college, and adult levels, but many do not have consistent access to recruiting support, professional video, scouting networks, or affordable showcase environments. Families often have to choose between paying for expensive programs or missing out on opportunities.

This creates a major gap in the soccer landscape. Players need more than isolated events. They need an organized support system that connects development, exposure, recruiting, media, and community resources in a way that is accessible and affordable.

VFN was created to address that gap.
