Ventura Football Network has officially launched its new International Opportunities program, a major step in expanding pathways for local players to reach clubs, colleges, and professional environments around the world.

The program was developed to create a more honest and accessible route for athletes who are ready to take the next step in their football careers. Through a direct partnership with licensed football agent and consultant Erick Santiago, Ventura Football Network will now serve as a central gateway for players seeking opportunities beyond the United States.

“This is another step toward building a complete pathway for players in our community,” said Cameron DeJong, Founder of Ventura Football Network. “There is so much talent in our community. What has been missing is the bridge to connect local players with trusted clubs and programs around the world. This partnership gives us the ability to create that bridge in a responsible and credible way.”

Santiago will serve as Ventura Football Network’s Director of International Opportunities. He brings years of experience working with players, clubs, and organizations across multiple regions and has deep connections with coaches and decision makers worldwide. Through the partnership, VFN will evaluate players, build curated profiles, and connect qualified athletes with serious opportunities.

The International Opportunities program is built around a simple and intentional process. Players apply through a dedicated VFN application form. VFN and Santiago review each player’s film, background, and goals. If accepted, the player is added to VFN’s internal international roster and placed into Santiago’s global network through his Done Deal platform. When clubs or coaches show interest, VFN helps guide the communication and supports the player through each step.

The program is designed for players who want to compete at the next level and are open to opportunities outside their city or country. This includes high level high school players, current and former college athletes, and standout open age or Sunday league players who have not had access to traditional scouting pathways.

“We are not interested in mass sign ups or false promises,” said DeJong. “This is a curated process. We review every player and only take on athletes we believe we can genuinely help. That is what keeps the pathway credible.”

The new initiative is part of Ventura Football Network’s broader mission to make football more accessible and to create real, sustainable opportunities for players in Ventura County and beyond. The organization already supports athletes through showcase events, media and recruiting support, and a growing network of local clubs.

The launch of the International Opportunities program strengthens VFN’s long term vision of building a complete player pathway from community level to college and professional levels.

Players interested in being considered can visit the International Opportunities page on the Ventura Football Network website and complete the online application. VFN will continue to share updates, stories, and future opportunities through its newsroom and social channels.
