Day One: Why We Started Ventura Football Network
January 20, 2024 – Ventura, CA
Today is the official beginning of something that’s been on my heart for a long time. After months of planning, years of lived experience, and a lifetime in the game, I’m proud to announce the launch of Ventura Football Network.
This isn’t just another soccer organization. This is a movement. A response to everything that’s broken in the current system — the politics, the gatekeeping, and especially the paywalls that keep the game out of reach for so many talented players.
We’re here to change that. One showcase, one opportunity, one player at a time.
No Fees. Just Football.
That’s the core of VFN. We’re building a system that removes the financial barrier and puts the focus back where it belongs: on the players. No more kids being overlooked because they can’t afford club fees, travel costs, or overpriced exposure events.
We’re going to host free showcases — built from the ground up for serious players who deserve real opportunities. Players will get professional film, photos, and a platform to be seen by college and pro scouts — without paying a cent.
Why I’m Doing This
I’ve lived it. I’ve seen too many good players fall through the cracks. I’ve seen raw talent go nowhere simply because they didn’t have the money or connections. I’ve also been blessed to experience football at a high level — as a player, as a captain, as a coach — and I know what’s possible when someone believes in you and gives you a shot.
This is my way of creating that shot for others.
What Comes Next
We’re starting local — Ventura County is home. But this is bigger than one city.
Our vision is national. Maybe even global.
We’ll be announcing the first official VFN Showcase soon.
We’ll be building a network of clubs, partners, and supporters who share this mission.
And we’ll be doing it all with full transparency, full heart, and full dedication to the players.
If you’re reading this, welcome to Day One. Whether you’re a player, coach, parent, scout, or just someone who loves the game — I hope you’ll be a part of this journey. We’re going to do something special.
Let’s build it.
