January 18 Showcase Recap: The Beginning of Something Bigger

January 18, 2024 – Buena High School, Ventura, CA

The Ventura Football Network returned for its second-ever showcase on January 18, building on the momentum of our debut event in March 2024. Hosted once again at Buena High School in Ventura, this showcase represented a major step forward in reach, exposure, and impact — with 86 players participating and real opportunities created across the board.

The men’s feature match included Estudiantes FC, providing a highly competitive setting that gave every player a real platform to shine.

A Landmark Partnership and International Reach

This event marked our first official partnership with United City FC (UCFC) — one of the nation’s top women’s programs — bringing elite scouting access and credibility to the event.

Scouting representatives from FC Köln (Germany) were in attendance to evaluate talent and explore future collaboration, while college and club scouts from across the country tuned in remotely via our Hudl livestream, powered by professional camera footage.

Coaches from Sporting FC Men’s and Women’s teams were also present on site, reaffirming their commitment to recruiting locally and supporting the VFN movement.

Real Results

The event produced immediate results:

  • Two players were signed by United City FC Women

  • Several others were picked up by Sporting FC Women

All of these outcomes came through a completely free showcase experience — with zero cost to the athletes involved.

Powered by Partnerships

This event would not have been possible without the support of our growing network. Special thanks to:

  • Hudl, for providing professional livestream and video capture

  • Adidas, for supplying top-tier gear and equipment used throughout the event

These partnerships allowed us to raise the bar for what a no-cost showcase can deliver.

A Movement in Motion

The January 18 Showcase proved that VFN’s mission is working. By removing financial barriers and putting players first, we are building something that not only inspires — it delivers.

  • 86 players

  • National and international scouts

  • Professional media coverage

  • College and club signings

  • Zero player fees

This is football reimagined. And we’re just getting started.
