Ventura’s Club. Ventura’s Culture.

Founded in 2025, San Buenaventura FC was born from the belief that talent should never be limited by finances. As Ventura County’s newest semi-professional football team, we compete in the UPSL under the nonprofit Ventura Football Network. Our mission is to eliminate the pay-to-play barrier and provide a real pathway for local players to grow, compete, and chase college or professional dreams, all at zero cost.

SBVFC is community-driven from the ground up. Backed by local supporters, small businesses, and passionate volunteers, we aim to build a club the entire region can rally behind. With a focus on pride, purpose, and performance, we’re not just building a team, we’re building a movement.

Our matches bring people together.

Our story is just getting started.

Part of the Ventura Football Network ecosystem

SBVFC is not just a team, it is the top layer of the VFN Player Pathway.

  • They receive recruiting support

  • The strongest local players advance into SBVFC

  • SBVFC becomes the bridge to UPSL, NISA, USL2, college, and overseas opportunities

values

San Buenaventura FC stands for more than wins and losses.
We’re building a club rooted in purpose, people, and progress, on and off the pitch.

Our values shape every decision we make, from who we include to how we compete. They are our standard and our promise to the community.

Access Over Profit

Football should be free to play, not pay-to-enter. We believe talent, passion, and hard work, not income, should determine opportunity. We don’t charge players. We remove financial barriers. We invest in potential.

Community First

We exist to serve our community, not profit from it. SBVFC is built by and for the people of Ventura County. We listen, we collaborate, and we reinvest every dollar back into the players and the programs that serve them.

Opportunity for All

We are committed to creating a system that opens doors, especially for those who have been shut out of the traditional model. Whether you're a player, coach, creative, or supporter, there's space for you here.

Local Pride, Global Vision

We represent the heart of Ventura and we dream big. Our goal is to put local talent on the map, from college rosters to professional clubs across the world.
We build at home, but our vision is international.

Purpose, Not Politics

We’re focused on impact, not politics or power struggles.
We move with intention, stay transparent, and let the mission lead the way. We don’t care where you’re from, who you know, or what you can pay, if you love the game, this is your club.

These aren’t just words. They’re the foundation we’re building on, one match, one player, one community at a time.

Building Ventura’s First Zero Pay-to-Play Semi-Pro Club

SBVFC is designed to be a long-term project that evolves with community input, player development, and sustainable growth.
Unlike traditional pay-to-play teams, we aim to remove financial barriers and create a club that truly belongs to the city.

Our goals:

  • Build a competitive UPSL first team

  • Create a strong community-driven game day experience

  • Develop a local fan culture around Ventura

  • Provide pathways for local talent

  • Expand into men’s, women’s, and youth Teams
