ABOUT SBVFC

Founded in 2025, San Buenaventura FC was born from the belief that talent should never be limited by finances. As Ventura County’s newest semi-professional football team, we compete in the UPSL under the nonprofit Ventura Football Network. Our mission is to eliminate the pay-to-play barrier and provide a real pathway for local players to grow, compete, and chase college or professional dreams, all at zero cost.

SBVFC is community-driven from the ground up. Backed by local supporters, small businesses, and passionate volunteers, we aim to build a club the entire region can rally behind. With a focus on pride, purpose, and performance, we’re not just building a team, we’re building a movement.

Our matches bring people together. Our story is just getting started.

  • Creating free, community-powered soccer that unlocks potential and unites Ventura County, on and off the pitch.

  • Build a competitive, community-backed UPSL squad

    • Create a real game day experience that brings people together

    • Offer a clear pathway from local talent to college, pro, or international football

    • Support Ventura’s economy through job creation, local sponsorships, and small business partnerships

    • Build a culture around pride, purpose, and performance

  • San Buenaventura FC stands for more than wins and losses.
We’re building a club rooted in purpose, people, and progress, on and off the pitch.

Our values shape every decision we make, from who we include to how we compete. They are our standard and our promise to the community.

    Access Over Profit

Football should be free to play, not pay-to-enter. We believe talent, passion, and hard work, not income, should determine opportunity. We don’t charge players. We remove financial barriers. We invest in potential.

    Community First

We exist to serve our community, not profit from it. SBVFC is built by and for the people of Ventura County. We listen, we collaborate, and we reinvest every dollar back into the players and the programs that serve them.

    Opportunity for All

We are committed to creating a system that opens doors, especially for those who have been shut out of the traditional model. Whether you're a player, coach, creative, or supporter, there's space for you here.

    Local Pride, Global Vision

We represent the heart of Ventura and we dream big. Our goal is to put local talent on the map, from college rosters to professional clubs across the world.
We build at home, but our vision is international.

    Purpose, Not Politics

We’re focused on impact, not politics or power struggles.
We move with intention, stay transparent, and let the mission lead the way. We don’t care where you’re from, who you know, or what you can pay, if you love the game, this is your club.

These aren’t just words. They’re the foundation we’re building on, one match, one player, one community at a time.

  • San Buenaventura FC is more than a team. We are a platform for change, built on principles that guide how we lead, how we operate, and how we serve. These principles are not just beliefs, they are the foundation of every decision we make.

    We Champion Access and Equity

Football is for everyone. We are committed to eliminating the barriers that keep players from pursuing their dreams, whether those barriers are financial, social, or systemic. Everyone deserves a chance to play, to be seen, and to grow.

We Lead with Purpose, Not Politics

We are focused on real impact, not personal gain or behind-the-scenes politics. We stay grounded in our mission and move with clarity, transparency, and accountability to the community we serve.

We Center the Community in Everything

From game days to board meetings, the community comes first. We invite feedback, listen closely, and create space for local voices in every part of this club. We are nothing without the people who believe in us.

    We Stand Against Discrimination

We do not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any form of hate. We stand firmly for the freedom, dignity, and safety of all people, on and off the field.

    We Invest in People

Our success is measured by growth, not just results. We support our players as athletes and as people. We develop leadership, life skills, and long-term opportunities. We are here to build futures.

    We Believe in Representation

We believe our club should reflect the diversity of our region, across race, gender, language, and background. We seek out and uplift leaders who reflect the players and families we serve.

    We Welcome Innovation and Creativity

We’re not interested in doing things the way they’ve always been done. We value fresh ideas, bold thinking, and community-led solutions. We believe creativity is essential to making this work sustainable and exciting.

    We Are Transparent and Humble

We don’t pretend to have all the answers. We are learning, growing, and adjusting every step of the way. When we fall short, we own it, reflect, and do better.

These principles aren’t just ideals, they are promises. To our players. To our supporters. To our community.

San Buenaventura FC will always be a club that reflects the best of what football and humanity can be.
